The child-oriented show promises to focus on standalone episodes, rather than long multi-episode arcs that require fans to keep up with lore. Both Adventure Time and Fionna and Cake can be a little daunting for first-time viewers who don't have all the necessary context, so Side Quests may be a little more welcoming. It should also be easier to dip in and out of.
Side Quests will be set years before the events of Adventure Time, while Finn is still a child who dreams of his future endeavors. As the name suggests, Side Quests will also provide an opportunity for the show's greatest side characters to shine. The creators have already teased the appearance of a younger version of Ice King, and it's likely that some other fan-favorites will show up too.
